Modernize Sleepy Hollow Road

Sleepy Hollow Road is a main passageway connecting busy McLean Boulevard to Route 72. This busy road is known by many to be lacking in many ways and in a poor state of repair. I would argue that for the benefit of those in the community, the village should update the road to modern standards, including a bike lane to better facilitate those individuals in the community.

The cost of updating and modernizing the road would be far outweighed by the benefit to those in the surrounding areas. A bike lane would connect already established biking and walking paths in Carpentersville north of Route 72 to those in Elgin off McLean south of the I-90 viaduct. Further updating the road would allow for increased traffic flow through the village and provide a necessary corridor for travel between two major areas.
