The Lake County Health Department is collaborating with several local partners to plan an event commemorating World AIDS Day on Saturday, Dec. 1. This year’s bilingual event will feature music, dance, the sharing of inspirational thoughts and a candle-lighting ceremony from 1 to 2 p.m. at Waukegan High School’s Trapp Auditorium, 2325 Brookside, Waukegan. A short reception will follow. This free event is open to the public. Partners include Alexian Brothers The Harbor, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago-Lake County Services, YWCA Lake County, Links-North Shore Youth Health Service, First Congregational United Church of Christ, Waukegan Public Schools and the Waukegan Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
