Lombard man faces child sex assault charges

A Lombard man accused of molesting the 5-year-old daughter of a family friend remained jailed Saturday on $500,000 bail.

Emiliano Estrada, 43, faces a charge of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

Estrada was arrested Tuesday after the victim reported the allegations to her sister. Estrada molested the child while they were alone watching movies, Assistant DuPage County State’s Attorney Diane Michalak said in bond court Wednesday.

When police questioned Estrada, “He ultimately said it was true, and the victim was not lying,” Michalak told Judge Thomas Else.

Else set bail at $500,000, meaning Estrada would have to post a $50,000 bond to be released. The judge also ordered Estrada to have no contact with children.

Estrada, who has no prior criminal record, could face up to 60 years in prison if convicted. His next court date is Dec. 17 in front of Judge Blanche Hill Fawell.
