Crash claims life of Round Lake-area woman
A 24-year-old woman died in a head-on collision in Round Lake on Wednesday, authorities said Friday.
An autopsy conducted Friday found Araceli Villasenor died of "multiple traumatic internal injuries indicative of a car crash," said Lake County Coroner Artis Yancey.
The crash occurred Wednesday evening when Villasenor's vehicle struck another vehicle near the intersection of Cedar Lake Road and Forest Avenue, authorities said.
She was pronounced dead at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville at 11:23 p.m., Yancey said.
Villasenor lived in the Round Lake area.
Yancey said Villasenor had children in her car, but it was unknown if they or the driver of the other vehicle were injured.
He said the investigation into the circumstances of the accident is ongoing. It was unclear if any citations would be issued.
Round Lake police couldn't be reached Friday.
