LZHS hosts wind symphony concert

The University of Illinois Wind Symphony will perform at Lake Zurich High School on Friday, Dec. 7. The Wind Symphony is U of I’s top ensemble.

Lake Zurich High School alumni Jared Cooney returns to his alma mater as a member of the ensemble on clarinet. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Lake Zurich’s Performing Arts Center. The Wind Symphony is under the direction of Robert Rumbelow, head band director at University of Illinois.

Music to be performed includes Percy Grainger’s “Lincolnshire Posy” and Aaron Copland’s moving “A Lincoln Portrait”. The public is invited to attend. The cost is $5 for adults, and $1 for students. Tickets will be available at the door.
