Batavia Park District offers family fun this holiday season

There will be no shortage of affordable fun this season at the Batavia Park District!

Kick off the season at Celebration of Lights on Sunday, November 25 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Batavia Riverwalk. This free event offers tractor-pulled wagon rides, free roasted chestnuts, a community sing-a-long, bake sale, story hour, tree lighting ceremony and of course, a visit with Santa! Share breakfast with Santa Claus on Saturday, December 1 from 8:30-10:00 a.m. at the Eastside Community Center, 14 N. Van Buren St. After you’ve gotten your fill of fruit, pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausage, give Santa your "wish list" and receive a special gift. Entertainment will include a performance by the Batavia Showstoppers and “A Dickens Kind of Christmas” variety show. Entertainment will begin at 9:15 a.m. after Santa’s departure. Don’t forget the camera! The cost is $13 for residents, $15 for Batavia nonresidents or $17 for nonresidents. Register as a family of four to receive a discount.

Children will be delighted with a call from Santa, Mrs. Claus or one of Santa’s elves on Thursday, December 6. Register at the Park District Civic Center, 327 W. Wilson St. by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5. Calls will be placed between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. on December 6. The cost is just $1 to participate.
