Buffalo Grove police looking for bank robber
Buffalo Grove police hope a high-quality surveillance photo will again lead to an arrest after a robbery at PNC Bank Monday afternoon.
A white male, approximately 5 foot, 8 inches tall, wearing a Chicago Bears stocking cap, glasses and a striped sweater, entered the PNC Bank, 1177 W. Lake-Cook Road, in Buffalo Grove at 4:50 p.m. Monday.
No weapons were displayed or implied as he approached a teller and demanded money. He exited the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
That PNC Bank has been robbed at least three times in the past — twice in 2008 and once in 2006, said Buffalo Grove Deputy Chief Steve Husak.
“They have a really good system over there,” Husak said. “In 2008, they identified someone from the photo. I'm hoping that if it's someone recognized from the area, they'll either call us or the FBI and get this done quickly.”
The bank didn't have many customers at the time. Police are also hoping to learn more about how the suspect left the scene from anyone who might have been in the area.
“We don't know if he got in a vehicle,” Husak said. “The surveillance shows him walk out of the bank, and I don't know if there's someone waiting for him.”
No one was injured in the robbery. Police continue to investigate.
