Des Plaines Optimists’ tree sale to support kids programming

If a real Christmas tree is the centerpiece of your holiday decorating, there is no better place to find one than at the Optimist Club of Des Plaines annual Holiday Tree Lot. The Optimists have a variety of freshly cut trees to choose from including Balsam firs, Scotch pines and Frasier firs. Handmade wreaths and garlands are also available in a variety of sizes.

Proceeds benefit children’s programming and free events such as kite flies, golf outings, fishing derbies, movies in the park, and the Holiday Tree Lighting Street Fest.

The Optimist Holiday Tree Lot is at the Lake Park Memorial Pavilion, on Lee Street at Fargo Avenue. The lot is open 4-8 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturdays; and noon-8 p.m. Sundays, from Friday, Nov. 23-Sunday, Dec. 23.
