Trustee named to chair Community Promotions and Tourism Committee

LOMBARD, Illinois—Lombard Trustee Laura Fitzpatrick was recently named to Chair the Community Promotions and Tourism Committee. The chair position, formerly held by Village President Bill Mueller, has been vacant since his passing. Originally designated as an ad-hoc committee, the Village Board of Trustees officially changed it to a standing committee, which requires a Trustee to fill the chair seat.

"I am excited about this opportunity to continue to make Lombard a destination for travel, shopping and business meetings,” Fitzpatrick said. “There are always ways to improve our hotel and restaurant market in the Metro-Chicago area," she added.

Fitzpatrick is also recruiting new members for the committee. She is specifically seeking residents with a background in hospitality, communications or marketing.

"We are looking for a professional level committee that can steer our promotions," Fitzpatrick added.

The next meeting of the Community Promotions and Tourism Committee will be scheduled in early January, after the committee selection.
