Des Plaines city clerk to conduct audit

Des Plaines City Clerk Gloria Ludwig, the official historian and keeper of the records, will be conducting an audit of the documents and records in her office over the next several months to ensure their safekeeping.

The documents are part of the city’s history and have been entrusted by the public to clerk’s office, Ludwig said in a news release.

An audit is not an indication of wrongdoing, but verification that the process in place is working, and all documents under the control of the clerk’s office have been deposited for safekeeping by other departments, she added.
