Symbol of holiday season arrives in Mount Prospect

A classic symbol of the holiday season arrived in Mount Prospect on Thursday as work crews set up a big Christmas tree next to village hall.

Mount Prospect will hold a formal tree-lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21 — the day before Thanksgiving — outside village hall, 50 S. Emerson St. The event will include songs, cookies & cocoa and a Christkindlemarket featuring craft vendors.
