The crash happened at 11:52 p.m., when the car Holtorf was driving, a Honda Odyssey, crossed the centerline on the four-lane road and hit a southbound Nissan Rogue, police said.

Two people in the Rogue were injured. One was flown to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center in Downers Grove, and was in serious/critical condition, police said. The other occupant was treated and released at a nearby hospital.

The identities of the injured people have not been released.

Batavia police and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team are continuing their investigations into the cause of the crash.
