Mount Prospect man pleads guilty to molesting teen

A 50-year-old Mount Prospect man who police say molested a teenage boy pleaded guilty to the charges Tuesday in Rolling Meadows.

Cook County Judge Ellen Mandletort sentenced Mark Brown, of the 100 block of North Prospect Manor, to 30 months probation and ordered him to register as a sex offender.

Arlington Heights police charged Brown with aggravated criminal sexual abuse after they discovered him and the then 16-year-old in a car parked behind a business on the 200 block of West Rand Road.

Brown told authorities that he and the boy had been friends for several years and that friendship developed into a sexual relationships, police said.

As part of the plea agreement, Brown must undergo treatment and have no contact with the victim, prosecutors said.
