Trio of holiday shopping events to take place in Palatine

With the holidays just around the corner, consider patronizing a trio of local shopping events over the next week that will offer treats for both the kitchen and under the tree.

The Downtown Palatine Business Association will hold its annual shopping event Friday, Nov. 16, and Saturday, Nov. 17.

It will feature shops, restaurants and businesses that will offer demonstrations, special offers, home decor and fashion ideas and complimentary food and beverages.

Shoppers simply need to pick up a “passport” at any participating location for $2 to unlock the door to special savings, tasty treats and a chance to win multiple raffle prizes.

Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Visit downtownpalatine.org for more information.

But first, stop by the Palatine Township Senior Center’s Cookie Walk. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 14, and Thursday, Nov. 15, at the center, 505 S. Quentin Road, Palatine.

The fundraiser will feature free chair massages, holiday pictures, gift baskets and, for $8 a pound, homemade baked goods. Visit ptscc.org.

Finally, the Salt Creek Park District will hold its Holiday Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Salt Creek Sports Center, 647 S. Consumers Ave., Palatine. Visit saltcreekpd.com for more information.
