Five injured in Elk Grove Township crash

Five people were injured in a two-vehicle, rollover crash in Elk Grove Township Wednesday afternoon, according to the Elk Grove Township Fire Department.

Fire Captain Tom Zaremba said two vans were involved in the accident, which occurred at 12:53 p.m. near the intersection of Oakton Street and Hamilton Road, just north of I-90.

He said some of the five people who were injured in the crash were trapped in one of the vans.

Two people were sent to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, two people were sent to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge and one person was sent to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Zaremba said.

He did not know what condition the people were in or if any citations were issued.
