Lombard alerts residents to possible scam on electric aggregation

LOMBARD, Illinois—The Village of Lombard has been made aware that residents have recently received phone calls from a supplier stating that a rebate is being offered for the electric aggregation program. This supplier then requests the resident's account information and switches the account to their service.

The Village of Lombard has contracted with First Energy Solutions for all residents and small commercial accounts. Accounts were automatically moved to First Energy unless the resident or business opted out of the program, had already switched to an alternate supplier, or were part of the Residential Real-Time Pricing (RRTP) program. Eligible residents and businesses do not need to do anything to remain in the program. Any contact for the electric aggregation from any other supplier is not affiliated with the Village of Lombard.

If you believe that you have been a victim of this scam, please contact the Lombard Police Department at (630) 873-4400.
