Bilecki said all indications are Bougan was struck by a vehicle Monday morning. The car fled the scene, Bilecki said.

He added family and friends said the Park Ridge man often rode a bike or walked on Touhy in the area he was located.

He added a bicycle was not discovered at the crash scene.

He said investigators have pieces of the vehicle and are working to determine the type of car involved in the crash.

He said additional information would be released later Tuesday.
