Politicians can’t put God back in nation

text size: AAA

This election season, lots of people have been arguing that we need to "put God back into this nation" — and for them that looks like adding God back into the party platforms, adding the word "God" to our laws or government language or into Christmas advertising. But, honestly, that isn't going to change anything. Faith doesn't trickle down from our leaders, it flows up from our culture. If we want to bring God into our culture, it has to start at home and in our communities.

Looking to the president or Congress or laws to do that won't work. In fact, it'll probably just tick off those who care nothing for God anyway The Christian Bible (James 1:27) puts it this way: Religion that God accepts as pure and faultless is looking after orphans and widows, and keeping yourself from being polluted by the world.
