Time for new ideas in clerk’s office

On Oct. 27, a Fence Post letter cited incorrect information about Ralph Scalise who is running against incumbent Chris Kachiroubas for DuPage Circuit Court Clerk. It referred to Mr. Scalise as having a “tainted background” and cited his receiving a pension as a former firefighter and the possibility of his receiving a second higher pension for working as clerk.

Mr. Scalise has pledged not to take any pension he might receive from his work as clerk. In fact, it is doubtful this could become an issue because it would take 10 years for Mr. Scalise to be eligible to receive a pension.

In addition, Mr. Scalise has pledged to accept no raises while in office unless employees receive a raise.

In these difficult times where all governments are struggling with their budgets, Mr. Kachiroubas hired a former county board member Bill Maio and gave him eight pay raises.

Ralph Scalise will make an excellent leader and work for all the people of DuPage County. Mr. Kachiroubas has served 3 terms. It’s time for new ideas and new leadership, which is why I support Ralph Scalise.
