Car fire damages Bartlett home

No one was injured when a car caught fire Tuesday night in an attached garage in Bartlett, authorities said.

The Bartlett Fire Protection District was dispatched about 10:53 p.m. to the single-family house on the 1300 block of Bay Meadows Drive. Crews arrived within three minutes and found a car on fire in an attached garage, authorities said.

The blaze was contained to the garage, but smoke spread throughout the house. Authorities estimated $120,000 in damage and said the house is uninhabitable. The cause is under investigation.

Crews from Carol Stream, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Streamwood, St. Charles and South Elgin fire departments assisted.
