Which Romney are you endorsing? Tea Party Mitt? Moderate Mitt? Bain Capital Mitt? Paul Ryan Mitt? Well, I guess it can't be Tea Party Mitt because you, inexplicably, excused him for what he said during the Republican debates. Truth is, if elected, we don't know which version will be in the Oval Office.
Romney and the rest of the GOP are so desperate to make their brand of conservatism relevant that they will say anything and everything to attract the large bloc of independent voters.
The bulk of your endorsement is simply unfair bashing of Obama. You trivialize the mess he inherited upon assuming office. Your editorial board dons blinders when it comes to examining Romney's program. His budget math doesn't add up; we need a smart defense establishment, not more dollars for the Pentagon; and we need compassion, not disdain for what Romney dismisses as freeloading "victims."
