Daily Herald report

Officials from the Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District are planning to meet with representatives of other nearby fire departments Thursday as they prepare for a possible split from the village of Barrington's fire department at the end of 2013.

The informal meeting is intended to pave the way for potential mutual-aid agreements with the independent fire district, which serves the area around Barrington's corporate borders.
