Water main break on Route 31 in Algonquin

A water main break in downtown Algonquin has caused one lane of Route 31 to be closed to traffic as repairs were being made Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

The break was on the 400 block of South Main Street, and village water and sewer utility were on the scene making repairs. The northbound lane of Main Street at Railroad Street was closed to traffic, and motorists should expect delays.
