No to Amendment of Constitution

Millions of Illinois taxpayers’ dollars are being spent to place the Constitutional Amendment on the November general election ballot. I urge you to vote no. If this amendment is successful, how much money will it save our state? Not one penny.

This amendment is being promoted by Speaker of House Michael Madigan as “real tough medicine.” The real tough medicine is the waste of taxpayer dollars to have this unnecessary amendment placed on the ballot. Speaker Madigan now proposes tough medicine be administered to retirees and current workers when, in fact, he stood by and approved the state not making required payments to the pension systems.

What the Speaker is doing is nothing less is covering his butt at the taxpayers’ expense. Tell the sponsors of this amendment to stop wasting our money and get to work resolving the real problems in our state. Vote no on the amendment.
