Lombard, Fire Department, Glenbard East High School Partner In Food Drive

LOMBARD, Illinois—Donations of non-perishable foods and paper goods are being collected to replenish supplies at the York Township Food Pantry. The food collection drive is part of the annual collection done by the Lombard Fire Department, Glenbard East High School and the Village of Lombard.

Non-perishable food items are urgently needed, such as canned goods, spaghetti sauce, diapers, toilet paper, paper towels, and boxed goods like pasta, rice and cereal.

The Village of Lombard municipal buildings (fire stations, police station, Village Hall and Public Works) will have collection bins in the entranceways beginning Oct. 29 and will continue through Nov. 9 during its annual food drive for the local pantry. The Lombard Village Hall keeps a donation bin in the front lobby year-round for the food pantries and hopes to collect even more donations than usual during this event.

The Glenbard East Student Council has organized this event at the school and will work closely with the Village of Lombard Fire Department to collect as many donations as possible. Glenbard East High School will collect donations from students on Nov. 5-9.

Any questions regarding the collection should be directed to Fire Administration at (630) 620-5738.
