DeWyze to perform at benefit gala

Musician, former “American Idol” champ and Mount Prospect native Lee DeWyze will perform at the annual Demand Cures Today Gala to benefit cancer research on Saturday, Nov. 3, in Chicago.

The event will celebrate new cancer research and treatment options while raising money for research.

DeWyze, who lost a grandfather to cancer when he was a child, will be the evening’s special guest. The gala also will include cocktails and dinner, a dance party and a live auction.

The goal of the gala, which is organized by the Schaumburg-based Gateway for Cancer Research, is to raise $2 million. The event will be held at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park hotel, 200 N. Columbus Drive. For information, go to demandcurestoday.org.
