Obama shouldn’t demonize ‘rich’

text size: AAA

President Obama has partially succeeded in his campaign of class warfare and demonizing the "rich" because they somehow aren't paying their fair share. This was evidenced by a gentleman from Geneva who wrote in this paper that Republicans are obstructionist for refusing to raise taxes on the rich. The top 1 percent of wage earners pay 39 percent of all federal taxes. That means they pay the taxes for themselves and 38 other people out of every 100. What do those 38 people pay? Zero. Where is the fairness in that?

My suggestion to this gentleman who is complaining about the rich not paying enough — keep pushing for increased taxes on the people who are already probably paying your tax bill and the rich will take their money out of the economy and lie on a beach somewhere. Then, you really will have something to complain about.
