John Walters for 16th Circuit judge

During the many years that I have gone to the polls to vote, the one area on the ballot that consistently had me confused was voting for a judge. Most voters receive very little information about those running for that position.

However, this year for me it is quite different. In 2011 John Walters was unanimously appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to be the new 16th Judicial Circuit Court Judge. We are asked in this election to uphold the Illinois Supreme Court’s decision, despite Mr. Dalton’s criticism of their decision. Makes one wonder if he would be so critical if he had been the person they appointed.

I have known John for over 35 years and know him to be an honest, compassionate and fair person whose ethics are above reproach. John served 22 years on the Elgin City Council and was an Elgin attorney for 33 years. He has distinguished himself in many leadership roles in his church and been actively involved in youth sports. I could not be more enthusiastic in endorsing Judge John Walters to be retained as Kane County 16th Circuit Court Judge. He truly is the best qualified person for that position.
