• A 12-year-old girl was hit by a vehicle while she crossed the street Friday morning at Cary-Algonquin and Silver Lake roads, according to a news release. The girl was being treated at a hospital for her injuries and the 22-year-old driver is cooperating with police. • Donald C. Williams, 25, of the 7600 block of Bristol Lane, Hanover Park, appeared in bond court Thursday on a felony charge of attempting to cash a forged check, according to court documents. Williams is charged with presenting a fraudulent payroll check at 11 a.m. Wednesday to Ram Food Store, 725 W. Chicago St., in the amount of $678, police reports said. Bail was set at $10,000, of which Williams must pay 10 percent to be released before his next court date, scheduled for Nov. 1 in St. Charles.
