Buffalo Grove High stages Charlie Brown musical

Buffalo Grove High School’s theater stage will be transformed into Charles M. Schultz’s iconic “Peanuts” comic strip, Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 25-27, for the fall musical, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.”

Clark Gesner penned the book, music and lyrics, based on Schultz’s beloved characters.

The production includes all the classic songs, such as “Happiness,” “Suppertime,” “The Baseball Game,” and the title tune.

Will Charlie Brown ever find the courage to talk to the little red-haired girl? Will Linus give up his blanket? Will Snoopy figure out the meaning of life ... from the roof of his doghouse?

Brian McCallister plays Charlie Brown, Grace Baird is Sally Brown, Alyssa Gillespie is Lucy Van Pelt, Jim VanDerBosch is Snoopy, Alec Sabbath is Schroeder, and Cole Festenstein is Linus Van Pelt.

The ensemble is composed of Milan Babic, Jessie Brooks, Robert Hussey, Hallie Larkowski, Erin Logan, and Jessica Wolf.

Director/choreographer is Beth Wells; the musical director is Debora Utley; Jeannie Workman is the piano and rehearsal accompanist; scenic designer/technical director is Ed Moon; costume and makeup coordinator is Debbie Andres; and house manager is Betsy Ludemann.

Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for BGHS students with ID, and $4 for children under 12.
