Video gambling in bars a bad idea

Video gambling in bars a bad idea

Should video gambling be allowed in establishments where liquor is poured (bars, clubs, organizations)? As I see it, this is not a wise choice.

Everyone knows what drinking alcoholic beverages does to willpower — it weakens it. As one imbibes while playing video gambling machines, one could become careless and be subject to possible extensive monetary losses. Playing these machines can also become a gambling addiction, which could lead to serious domestic problems.

Villa Park originally voted against allowing video gambling in such establishments but is currently reconsidering the measure. I urge the Villa Park board of trustees to once again reject video gambling in establishments where liquor is poured. I’ve lived in Villa Park for 46 years. It’s a great community; let’s keep it that way.
