Two injured in four-alarm blaze near Barrington

Two were injured Wednesday as firefighters from the Barrington area and several nearby departments battled a barn fire Wednesday morning on Ridge Road in Barrington Hills, authorities said.

The four-alarm blaze was reported about 8:20 a.m. and fire crews from as far away as Hampshire were called in to assist or cover for other departments on the scene.

There were reports a firefighter was hospitalized for an injury not considered life-threatening suffered while battling the blaze. Ridge Road remained closed to traffic until late this morning, more than three hours after firefighters were called to the scene.
