Leaders not sharing the sacrifice
Why should the average American be willing to give up wage increases and benefits when our “leaders” at all levels (city, county, state and nation) don’t give up a thing to help get our economy back on its feet? I don’t hear about our senators or congressmen (state or national), mayors, aldermen or any other elected officials giving up any income, perks or benefits, yet they all expect the rest of us to do just that. The same is true for CEOs — they get salary increases and bonuses while the companies they “lead” are going under, laying off employees, unable to give any raises to the workers, reducing benefits. Those who make the rules should have to live by them also.
