West Aurora school salaries report available

The West Aurora school board Monday will certify a salaries and benefits report for teachers and administrators, detailing what each was paid in fiscal year 2011-12.

The report is available in the BoardBook on the district's website, sd129.org. It is required by state law, and is to be approved by Oct. 1 and placed on the website.

The report lists the base pay, sick and vacation days, cost of benefits such as health insurance, bonuses, annuities and retirement incentives actually paid to administrators and teachers. Teachers also include librarians, psychologists, nurses and social workers. Base pay includes what they were paid for all school-related duties, including coaching sports teams, advising clubs, and supervising before- and after-school events.

Superintendent Jim Rydland received base pay of $192,200. He also received a $70,000 annuity, $21,808 in retirement incentive, and $8,722 in benefits.

The top base pay for a full-time teacher was $137,357, paid to a physical education teacher at an elementary school. The lowest base pay for a full-time teacher was $35,681, paid to a school nurse who resigned at the end of February.
