Waukegan man accused of burglary

A Waukegan man charged with residential burglary — about a month after he was released on parole for another burglary — police said Friday.

Authorities said Donald J. Williams, 31, of the 1100 block of Grove, stole items from a house on the 1900 block of Western Avenue about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The homeowners told police they saw the suspect leave their home, but after confronting him, he denied the crime. Police arrested Williams as he left his house, and later he confessed to the burglary, police said.

The stolen items were recovered and given back to the victims, according to police.

Williams was released from jail Aug. 23 for a burglary in 2009 and was on parole wearing an ankle monitor.

He is being held at Lake County jail on $100,000 bail.
