Palatine to receive $357,000 Community Development Block Grant

The village of Palatine will receive a Community Development Block Grant totaling nearly $357,000 to support efforts by nonprofits and local government entities to provide support service, affordable housing and infrastructure projects.

U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin announced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant during a recent visit to the Palatine Opportunity Center, which will receive $25,000.

The village will distribute the rest to groups including Palatine Township, Bridge Youth & Family Services, Children’s Advocacy Center, Little Sisters of the Poor, CEDA Northwest, Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council, Journeys from PADS to HOPE and its own engineering department.
