Fire damages Des Plaines home, no injuries reported

No injuries were reported after firefighters put out a small blaze that started in a bedroom of a single-family Des Plaines home Sunday morning.

The fire occurred about 6 a.m. in the 1500 block of Marshall Drive, firefighters said. It was contained to the room at the rear of the home where it started, and firefighters were able to get the fire under control in 15 minutes.

Officials said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Damage is estimated at about $60,000.
