Des Plaines library hosts used book sale

The Friends of the Des Plaines Public Library used book sale will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, (members-only night); 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29; and from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at the library.

The sale includes a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction books for adults and children, plus videotapes, audiobooks, DVDs and CDs.

All proceeds from the book sale are used to support programs and activities at the library for children, adults and families.

Also participating will be the Des Plaines History Center with a selection of items for sale from its “Yesterdays” gift shop.

Individual membership in the Friends is $5 a year, family membership $10. Application forms will be available at the sale or may be obtained at the library.

The library is located at 1501 Ellinwood St., Des Plaines.
