Will it be too costly to retire in Illinois?

You are right on, Mr. Johns (Fence Post), regarding the unfair property tax increases we have to pay. We feel the same way, as we have a small home with a large tax bill. What can we do about it, though? If you complain to your state representatives as you’ve done, and they laugh in your face, what’s the next step? I know several people who say they will have to move out of Illinois once they retire (if they can retire!) simply because they won’t be able to afford it — and the corrupt Illinois politicians keep getting richer.
