The Gurnee Park District invites the community to celebrate fall's splendor with the first Fall Fest on Saturday, Oct. 6. The event is noon to 4 p.m. at Viking Park, 4374 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee. Admission is free and includes an "Apple Dumpling Area" complete with kids' games, electric train rides, crafts, 9-hole putt putt course and petting zoo and children's musical entertainment by Dream Tree Shakers at 12:30 p.m. There will also be tractor-pulled hay rides, a make-your-own carmel apple station (for purchase) sponsored by the Gurnee Rotary Club, and Kountry Kettle Corn and other concessions available for purchase.
