Hoffman Estates works; let’s not ‘fix’ it

I have lived in Hoffman Estates for 34 years. I have been witness to plenty of years of contentious village boards and mayors.

Now, I am happy to say, we have some well-deserved peace and quiet, with the focus now being the well-being of our residents and our town.

The village’s motto, “Growing to Greatness”, now, more than any other time in our history, means something. The current village board, along with our mayor, Bill McLeod, works well together, without the years of old distractions and out of control egos.

With the downturn in the economy, the villages made some tough decisions in order to control and reduce the budget, facing the hard reality of what needed to be done. Ever so slowly, the economy is turning around, and with it, a more nimble village seems poised to move forward. We need to keep our focus, and keep the harmony that allows the real work to be done.
