Fall Fest continues through Sunday in Des Plaines

Fall Fest 2012 continues from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday in Des Plaines, the final day of its three-day run.

Free admission, free parking, and free concerts are part of the fourth annual community event that features a carnival; food and beverages; a KidZone! with crafts, pony rides, entertainment, and activities for children; adult bags tournaments; 50/50 raffles; a custom car show; an art fair; a fishing derby; a country fair tent; and live music.

The fest, presented by AT&T U-verse and produced by the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce, the Des Plaines History Center, and the Des Plaines Park District, takes place at Lake Park, 2200 Lee St.

Here’s a few of Sunday’s events:

Main Stage free entertainment: Noon: Artistry in Motion Dancers; 1:30 p.m.: Who Knew; 3:45 p.m.: 7th Heaven; 6:15 p.m.: Red Wanting Blue.

Noon to 4 p.m., unlimited carnival rides for $20

Art fair until 5 p.m.

Car show until 4 p.m.

KidZone! until 6 p.m.

Events in the History Center Country Fair Tent include crafts sale until 5 p.m.; owl dancer Mark Pfieffer interpreting the North American fur trade until 5 p.m.; Revolutionary War Re-enactors until 5 p.m.; “Ask a Master Gardener” from 1-5 p.m.; and a pie-eating contest at 2:30 p.m.
