‘Race 3’ in Vernon Hills

Food, music, children's games, a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle and more will be part of "Race 3," an auto racing-themed event that begins at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Half Day Forest Preserve, 5 Milwaukee Ave., in Vernon Hills. The event is open to the public, and is hosted by Nicholas' Gift of Hope, a group that provides free drug testing kits to parents and helps promote drug awareness and prevention. Tickets include one meal and one drink, and are $7 for children ages 4-12 and $20 per adult. For tickets and more details, go to www.nichbeinlich.com.
