Masked man robs McHenry bank

A man with a mask pulled over his face robbed a McHenry bank Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

The man demanded money from a teller at the Charter One Bank at 2058 N. Richmond Road and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police responded to a robbery alarm at 1:44 p.m. but were unable to locate the thief.

The man did not display a weapon during the robbery, and there were no reported injuries.

The thief is described as a white man in his 30s standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He is thin and was wearing an off-white shirt, according to McHenry police.

He had on black gloves and a black backpack and was wearing long dark shorts, according to the FBI.
