Armed robber steals drugs from Crystal Lake pharmacy

A man armed with a semiautomatic handgun held up a Crystal Lake pharmacy Sunday night to obtain a strong narcotic pain reliever, police said.

The man approached a pharmacist at the CVS Pharmacy, 1305 Randall Road, shortly after 10:30 p.m., displayed a gun and handed over a note demanding Oxycodone, according to a Crystal Lake police news release.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white male in his late twenties, about 6 feet tall, with a stocky build and red facial hair and a goatee, police said. The man was wearing a ball cap, sunglasses, baggy jeans, a black T-shirt and a dark hooded sweatshirt. It also was reported that he spoke with an accent, police said.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of Oxycodone, the suspect fled the store in was a silver or gray two-door Toyota or Mazda with a rear-deck spoiler, according to police. The vehicle was last seen southbound on Randall Road.
