The Algonquin Police Department contacted the sheriff's department Tuesday with information from an anonymous source about Szpak, which led authorities to investigate his potential location in Corpus Christi, Texas. That's where members of the U.S. Marshals Service took him into custody without incident about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.

Szpak's bond was set at $80,000.
