Submitted by the Hoffman Estates Fire Department

The Hoffman Estates Fire Department is accepting applications for its 12th annual Citizen Fire Academy. The academy is an opportunity for residents of the Village of Hoffman Estates to experience and learn about the inner workings of the department.

They will learn about home fire safety, CPR and the history of the department and also get a chance to climb a 100-foot ladder, use the "Jaws of Life" and lead a fire company into a burning building. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and reside, attend school or work in Hoffman Estates.
