Stand up for what you believe

“I sit here and I wonder if there is a church out there where I could feel comfortable going with my beliefs.” (Daily Herald, Aug. 15.)

How profound a statement. It acknowledges that a significant number of churches and their followers of the Judeo-Christian ethic reject the notion of same-sex marriage. Is the writer implying that the millions of people of these churches following their informed consciences are hate filled for doing so?

There is a significant difference between the acceptance of gays as individuals and the notion that a marriage between gays is normal. It is the gay community that throws the hate label on everyone and everything that doesn’t agree with each part of their agenda.

They are using the old tactic: “Tell a lie long enough and often enough until it becomes the truth.” Unfortunately, this point has arrived for many people. They can’t tell the facts from the oft repeated lie.

Give thanks that there are some strong enough to promote the truth and challenge the lie despite the now predictable repercussions. It is incumbent on all who believe this way to make themselves heard and drown out the lies, if the biased media will let them.
