The Island Lake Electoral Board will meet at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27 at the village hall, 3720 Greenleaf Ave., to consider an objection to petitions seeking an advisory referendum to be placed on the Nov. 6 ballot regarding a village municipal complex. The validity of some of the signatures collected by resident Mark Beeson is being questioned by Dan Field, co-owner of a company doing computer work for the village. The session is a continuation of the electoral board meeting that began Aug. 17. At that time, the three-member electoral board adopted preliminary rules and was advised that the first step in the process was for the Lake and McHenry County clerks to verify the registration status and compare contested signatures.
