Hold the praise for Obama on GM
Mr. Carras’ Aug. 2 comments about Mitt Romney were somewhat amusing. He criticized Romney for outsourcing. Apparently he doesn’t know that the Obama administration gave millions of dollars to Tesla Motors to build electric cars in the Netherlands. This was taxpayer money, not Obama bucks.
Mr. Carras believes that the government saved GM. The truth is the government illegally swindled the bond holders and gave them nothing while the unions came out smelling like a rose. (This was the president’s intention.) The unions now own a big chunk of the company. GM paid back some of the loans with other money given by the government.
After almost four years, we are still in a recession. Thank you, President Obama.
